A cover letter is a chance for you to make a good first impression with a potential employer and adds a personal touch to your resume.  It gives you an opportunity to highlight the key things contained in your resume.  It should not be more than one page with three or four paragraphs.  BEC offers a number of resources to help you with your cover letter, including the Job Finders Club, Career Planning Service or the Job Resource Centre.
